I could kiss your feet right now. I’ve tried writing something like this a hundred times and scrapped it because I felt bad about telling the truth. I’m so tired of reading the same old carbon copy drivel about what makes a writer a success.

The newsflash here is that making money isn’t what makes you successful. Getting your point across in a way that makes a difference to someone’s life is a better indicator.

Which always leads me to ask myself what my own motives are. My bank account indicates one of two things: either my heart is in the right place or I suck as a writer.

I don’t suck.

Anyway, you said this beautifully and I’m happy I finally stumbled across an article about writing that I can read without feeling like I sold out.
